CTK Community Giving Tree

Acts of Giving and Generosity come in many forms. This Christmas Season, beginning Sunday Nov 16, we will be decorating a  tree in the narthex with gift cards. Who among you have plenty and are able to purchase a gift card, or several, for someone especially in need of a thoughtful gift this holiday season? Or some of us may not have the means to give but know of someone in need who would appreciate such a gift. So how will this work? Purchase gift cards from places like Kwik-Trip, Walmart, Pick N Save, suggested amounts, $10, $25, $50. There will be gift card envelopes available by the tree. Say a prayer for the recipient, place the card in the envelope, label it and hang the card on a tree branch. Continue to decorate the tree with gift cards through the fourth Sunday of Advent.

Beginning 12/7, the Second Sunday in Advent, if you know of someone who would especially appreciate a gift please select a card, give thanks for it and share it in the spirit of generosity. We hope to keep the tree populated with gift cards up until Christmas Eve. The youth will help decorate the tree with hats, mittens and gloves, donating them to a group of their choice. Meeting the needs of others and the act of giving is what happens at Christmas, a baby, the Christ child, given to us all. May our giving tree be an act of sharing that love, born on Christmas Day.
