Faith & Friends

A video study last fall that began with no expectations has turned into a group of people

who continue to want to have Faith conversations together.

They decided to name themselves “Faith & Friends”, and would love to have you join for our new study starting this September. It's a 6 week video series called “A Purpose Driven Life.”

Where the idea of another Bible study began…

One of the ways God has stretched my faith was by leading me to step out of my comfort zone and invite someone I barely knew to meet for coffee. I was nervous, but I felt God nudging me to take that first step. As we spent time together, our friendship began to grow, and before long we realized we shared a desire to study God’s Word more deeply. What started as one simple invitation blossomed into a Bible study where we have been able to encourage one another, grow in our faith, and invite others to do the same. It reminded me that God often works through small acts of obedience, and when we are willing to step out in faith, He can do far more than we ever imagined.

A simple coffee date, then a lunch, and the desire to offer another study at CtK was

formed. Prayer and considering where God was leading us, led us to ask Mary Ann Otto

if she would be willing to co-lead with us the video study she was part of creating called

“Be Like Jesus, Live Like Jesus.” As we planned and invited, we relied on God to lead

and really had no expectations. We all realized it might just be us, and we were okay

with that. And God provided and surprised. Our group had anywhere from 12-16 people

at each session. We quickly trusted one another with our stories and realities. We

looked forward to seeing each other again.

Kristin and I began to wonder if we should suggest another study and as we continued to pray, we asked the group if they were interested in starting another study. And again God provided and we did parts of the “Alpha” series together. This study was another way for us to discuss our Faith and how God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are working in our lives. It also challenged us to live out our Faith.

As the end of this study was drawing near and we were approaching summer,

again we were faced with, should we see if we continue meeting, even maybe once so

we could stay connected, and to our surprise, again, the answer was, YES! Let's keep

meeting twice a month and let's name ourselves. We have enjoyed a relaxing summer

together, answering random questions and getting to know one another better and the

story of our Faith. It has been a fun time. We are very excited to continue on with a new

study this fall and would love for you to come and check us out. We have a great time of

fellowship (of course we eat together) and love just being ourselves and sharing what

the Holy Spirit leads us to share.

So come, have a seat at the table, and get to know others. There is a great group of

men and women that would like to get to know YOU!! Invite a friend, relative, and/or

neighbor. All are welcome!
