Holy Week – Holy Preparation!

This is the most humbling week for Jesus and for us as Christians. As we enter the sanctuary for worship in-person or virtually we will hear how Jesus died and rose for us and our salvation. Easter Sunday will be the conclusion of our theme Full to the Brim – An Expansive Season. Holy Week is necessary and is transformative in our connection with God, one another, and the world. There are a few things that will be helpful to prepare for our special services on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday.

General Reminders:

· Worship is Mask-Optional

· We ask people to register ahead of time or sign-in with the worship host

· Social distanced seating is located front piano side and on the right side

· Communion bread and juice can be picked up as you enter for worship

· Easter online worshipers can pick up communion between services outside the office entrance 10-11:30am

*All offering collected during Lent at CtK is supporting Sleep In Heavenly Peace our synod’s service project to provide beds for children and families who do not have proper sleeping means. $250 supplies materials for 1 bed. A workday to construct beds (May 7) will take place at St. Andrew, Oshkosh

How is Holy Communion Served?

· Communion elements are picked up in the back of the church before entering the sanctuary

· All are welcome to be united in the body and blood of Jesus Christ.

· After the elements are consecrated in the service there are a couple of ways to commune:

o If you wish have communion in your seat the pastor will say the words corporately “Body of Christ given for you” and “Blood of Christ shed for you.” You may consume the elements.

o If you wish to come forward for an individual blessing, ushers will dismiss your row, beginning with the center sections and then the sides. Bring your elements with you and they will be blessed for you to consume up front or to be taken back to your seat to consume.

*For anyone not taking communion you are invited to come forward for an individual blessing.

** Anyone wishing for an individual blessing but cannot come forward is asked to let an usher know, so that servers can come to your seat and share the blessing.
