Who are the crafty friends?

Crafty Friends was started after Pastor

Judy Deckert and Deanna Gjerald spent a great weekend at a craft event in Pastor’s former parish Grace Lutheran in Appleton. They had so much fun, they decided to establish a chapter at their own church, Christ the King Lutheran Church of Combined Locks.

It was decided to include all congregation members, male and female, as well as their families, friends, and neighbors. Everyone was invited to spend the day in fellowship while sharing a meal and even working on craft or two. They originally met from 12-8pm on different days of the week to entertain all interested parties’ schedules. A good-will offering was collected for the meal that was served.

Each participant brought their crafts to work on. They had scrapbookers, quilters, slime makers, diamond art works, Christmas ornaments, zentangle art, wreath makers, basket weavers and more! C-t-K had an exceptionally talented membership! Over the years, the hours were shortened to the 2nd weekend of each month from 12-5pm and each person brought a snack to share.

Just drop by for a few hours or stay the entire day. You could bring your project to work on, ask for advice (we have lots of ideas to share) or just come to visit your friends. We do not judge!

Our next get together is scheduled for October 11th from noon until 5pm. Someone is always there so if you want to stay after the fellowship service, you are more than welcome or you can return any time after 12pm. We cannot wait to see what you are working on!
