Who Are the No Basement Church Ladies?

We are women who gather once a week to share our thoughts and feelings about books, videos, the Bible, and life. We have been gathering here at CtK for more than 25 years (I think!). Part of each Saturday morning is filled with prayers for the world and others in our lives. Sometimes they are prayers of thanks and praise, sometimes prayers of concern for others and sometimes prayers for our own needs. Most of our meeting time includes discussion of the topic we are studying.

We are a relaxed group and everyone who attends is welcome to share their ideas, stay quiet and listen, and/or ask questions. We have found we learn so much from each other.

Over the years we have studied the Bible using books by authors such as Lisa Terkeurst or used the studies available in the Gather magazine. In the last few years, we have been watching the Chosen series and are using those study guides to spark our discussions. We begin each part of the study with watching an episode together here at church and then discuss that episode for the next few weeks. We like to take our time in talking about each episode because there is so much packed into each one and it’s fun to see how we all notice different details. Our time together is usually filled with laughter and learning.

We’d love to have you come and see who we are. We will begin meeting this fall on Saturday, September 12th.

Arrive: Any time after 8:15 a.m. to catch up on life. We begin study at 8:30 and usually run about an hour. This week we will be watching Episode One of Season Five of the Chosen which includes scenes from the Last Supper, Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on a donkey and the cleansing of the temple.
