1318

Nothing of significance happened, that we know about, on the site of Christ the King Lutheran Church in 1318.  However, 1,318 is a significant number at Christ the King because that is the amount of Thrivent Choice Dollars that members directed to be used for its ministry during the first four months of 2026.  Thrivent Choice Dollars are charitable grant funds distributed by Thrivent that eligible clients with membership can direct to enrolled churches and nonprofits.  Churches and nonprofits can use these funds to strengthen communities and change the lives of their members. 

So, if you are a Thrivent member and have not directed your 2026 dollars yet, please consider sending them to Christ the King Lutheran Church Combined Locks Wisconsin to help spread the Good News throughout our area and the world!  To direct them, log on to your Thrivent account at thrivent.com, locate the Generosity tab, pull down and click on Choice Dollars and the prompts will lead you through the process.

If that is not enough ministry action for you, there are also Thrivent Action Teams to help churches and nonprofits develop teamwork within their organizations, lead community service activities, fundraisers, or educational events.  Eligible Thrivent members can apply to organize up to two teams per year to accomplish any of these things, and Thrivent provides resources including a $250 Community Impact Card, and T-shirts for the team. 

During the first four months of 2026, Thrivent Action Teams have provided name tags for CTK  members, built a Four Square for youth activities, sponsored several Crumb Crews for fellowship time, provided meals for volunteers during  the Spring CTK Work Day, purchased plants and mulch for the Gardening Angels flower beds, and this coming Saturday, June 13^th a Thrivent Action Team is providing funds to purchase supplies for the CTK Youth Brat Fry at Festival Foods in Darboy to support their Montana Backpacking Trip this summer.  In all, so far in 2026, that amounts to $2,000 to help Christ the King spread the Good News! 

So again, if you are a Thrivent member and would like to begin an Action Team, login to your Thrivent account at thrivent.com, locate the Generosity tab, pull down and click on Action Team, and the prompts will lead you through the process.  CTK Church Picnic, Red Reformation Sunday Crumb Crew, All Saints Sunday Angel Food Crumb Crew, Fall CTK Workday Meals, Advent Christmas Cookie Crumb Crew, and purchasing prefilled Communion Cups for hospital, assisted living, nursing home, and online worship services are a few Thrivent Action Teams that will be needed in 2026.  Or maybe you have an Action Team, or two of your own in mind this year?
