at least in Wisconsin, we are hopeful for an early spring. Major League Baseball has already started and Brewer fever has begun. Golf leagues are gearing up and yours truly is anticipating the days when I can hit the links. Oh yes, we are hopeful that spring may finally be here!
April also begins the “High Holy” liturgical portion of our church year. We began with Palm Sunday on the last Sunday in March. The focus was the entrance of Jesus into the city of Jerusalem.
Then in April we enter what the church calls “The 3 Days”.
Maundy Thursday-April 2nd at 6:30 PM we will focus on the last supper of Jesus and what the word Maundy means.
Good Friday- April 3rd at 11am and 6:30pm we acknowledge that Christ died for us !
Easter Sunday- April 5th – we will have 2 opportunities for worship, 7:30 am and 9:15 am.
Christ is risen, He is risen indeed!
We need to be reminded that we are Easter people. Because we know of and believe in Jesus’ resurrection, our lives are changed. We live as people who know healing and hope. We live as people who know companionship and protection. We live as people who know guidance and teaching. We live as people who know forgiveness and love. We live as people who know that death is not the complete end of life, but that life with God is never ending. In other words, we live as Easter people. Thanks Be To God.
Peace to you and your loved ones,
Interim Pastor Dennis E Ellisen
