The CtK Ministry Fair is finally here! This Sunday we will see and celebrate the various ministries of CtK. Plan to take some time before zooming off into the rest of what Sunday has to offer to discover the many ways to engage your faith life and gain spiritual depth. There will be many people available to talk to and discover what Res-A-Wreck or Knit Wits are all about!
Why are we doing this?
It is part of our Rally Month and re-start of many of our ministries who need you to serve, grow, and be sent out with God’s Good News!
I know you have heard these words, but where have you heard them?
“To live among God’s faithful people,
To hear the word of God and share in the Lord’s supper,
To proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed,
To serve all people, following the example of Jesus,
And to strive for justice and peace in all the earth.”
If you said you have heard these words in worship, you are close. They are the words of promise spoken to the parents, sponsors, and congregation each time we have a baptism.
As Lutheran Christians we are called by God to daily live out our baptismal promises. This is discipleship or faithful living. When we actively worship, take in the sacred through the sacraments, share the good news to those who need to hear it, see it, experience it first hand. When we serve others, even when they least expect it, while striving for justice and peace throughout the world. Faith can be hard, because as Lutherans we are humble and not a very “show-off” kind of church. That is good and that is not so good. Humility keeps us in check, but it can also be difficult to express our actions and feelings of what Christ means to us. It is time for us to share in the fun of our congregation and the many ways we live out our faith.
Come and learn more this weekend at the CtK Ministry Fair and see how God’s love comes to life when we practice our faith and live out our baptismal promises!
Christ’s blessings and peace throughout your week,
Pastor Nate
