Another Chapter in Our Season of Change

Friends and partners in Christ at Christ the King Lutheran Church: Our church is in a time of change. Together, we want to be wise with the resources God has given us, and we also want to get ready to welcome a new pastor.
With that in mind, after much prayer and thoughtful discussion, your church council recently decided to refinance the church mortgage. Refinancing the mortgage is not just about the numbers. It helps free up money now for the work of our church.
Better cash flow will help the church support benevolence, which your council knows is important to our congregation. Better cash flow will also help with needed building repairs and maintenance, so small problems do not turn into costly emergencies later. Better cash flow will also help us pay our wonderful Christ the King staff fairly for their faithful work. It may even allow us to add a paid maintenance position.
Refinancing the church mortgage also helps our church get ready for our next chapter of leadership. You may not realize it, but calling a new pastor includes real costs. A national search can involve interviews, travel for candidates, and moving expenses. Your church council wants to make sure we have what we need to welcome our next pastor with hospitality and generosity.
In closing, this is about more than a mortgage. It is about giving Christ the King some breathing room so that when our new pastor arrives, they find a church with strong finances, a building in good shape, and a congregation and staff focused on sharing the Gospel. Your council asks for your prayers and your support as we move forward together.
God’s peace,
Chris Scheuer
