As we enter into spring and see the first signs of new life returning, Earth Day offers us a
moment to pause and reflect. For our community, this day isn't just about environmental
awareness; it’s about the humble recognition that we are caretakers of this magnificent
planet God created for us.
As you go through your days try noticing the intricate details of the world around you.
From the quiet morning mist on a local pond to the rhythmic calls of birds in the trees,
every element of nature serves as a reminder of a grander design. When we protect our
environment, we are essentially saying "thank you" to God for the gift of life and the beauty that sustains us.
Caring for the earth doesn’t require grand gestures. It’s often the small intentional choices we make that show our respect for creation.
Reduce reuse and recycle are simple things we can do to honor the resources we have been given. Pick up trash if you see it, cut the plastic rings from milk cartons or from 6 packs of soda before discarding them.
Consider planting native flowers for our pollinators. Provide food and water for our birds. Reduce the amount of fertilizers you use on your lawns. Avoid using rodent bait pellets to kill mice as it creates a vicious cycle of killing wildlife like owls, hawks, foxes, and even feral cats too. This Earth day lets commit to doing better for the earth and for all living things.
