Walking with Our Children: A New Year of Faith Formation Begins

As summer winds down and families begin to settle into the rhythm of a new school year, our church community is also preparing to welcome back our children and youth for a new year of Faith Formation programming.

But this is more than just another item on the calendar.

Faith Formation is one of the sacred ways we live out the promises we, as a congregation, made at the baptism of each child. In those beautiful moments, we pledged to support and nurture their journey of faith—not just in word, but in action. We promised to pray for them, walk with them, and surround them with a community of love, grace, and spiritual growth.

These are not small promises.

As we look forward to launching this new season of spiritual learning, fellowship, and discovery, we are reminded that our children are not simply “the future” of the church—they are the church of today. Their questions, their joy, their voices, and their faith shape our community right now. When we teach, guide, listen, and learn alongside them, the whole body of Christ is strengthened.

Faith Formation Kickoff: Blessing of the Backpacks/Devices

Sunday, September 7

We are so excited about what lies ahead—Sunday School, Christian Education, Confirmation, service opportunities, cross-generational activities, and sacred moments of connection that will help children and families grow in their love of God and neighbor.

If you have children in your household, we encourage you to register them today. And if you don’t, we invite you to consider how you might support this ministry—through prayer, volunteering, or simply being present.

Let’s continue to be a congregation that lives out its baptismal promises by bringing God’s love to life!

Faith Formation Start Dates:

• Sunday School (3K – 3rd Grade): Begins Sunday, September 21 (during worship)

• Christian Education (4th – 6th Grade): Begins Wednesday, September 24 @ 6:30 PM

• Confirmation (7th – 9th Grade): Begins Wednesday, September 24 @ 6:30 PM

• High School Youth Group (9th – 12th Grade): Begins Wednesday, September 24 @ 7:45 PM
